Today’s Universal app is one of those vertical platformers that makes you think, “How obvious and cute.” It’s called Amigo Pancho, and let me explain why I think that about it.
The premise of Amigo Pancho is simple enough: help this intrepid adventurer get to the mountain top with his inflatable balloons as his vehicle. Along the way, you’ll have to aid the character in avoiding all sorts of obstacles, like sharp mountain terrain, animals, and even fighting plants. Amigo will simply float up, but you’ll have to move things out of the way, rotate them, and even erase them entirely from the screen in order to create a path of smooth sailing (or floating). It’s a physics-based romp rolled into a platformer and it provides all sorts of unique takes on the genre. The graphics are filled with color and crisp edges, and there is a fun soundtrack that keeps the ambience of the game lighthearted. Grab Amigo Pancho and help this adventurer get to the top.
